Got questions? We’ve got answers (and possibly snacks).
We know there’s a lot to think about when you’re coming to a wedding — What do I wear? Where do I stay? Will there be cake? (Yes. Definitely Yes!) Consider this your personal cheat sheet for our big day. Read on, get the details, and come ready to celebrate like there’s no tomorrow!
How do I RSVP?
Step 1. Go to the wedding website: theknot.com/varunandalia
The link has been shared by text along with the wedding invitation.
Step 2. Find the RSVP tab
On the site’s menu, you’ll see a button or section labeled “RSVP”. Enter your name. The Knot matches your RSVP to the guest list, so spelling matters. If you can’t find your name, try using just your first or last name. If for some reason it still doesn't appear, please contact Alia or Varun.
Step 3. Confirm your attendance
Select whether you’re attending.
Step 4. Submit and get confirmation
You should see a confirmation screen and may get an email as well.
By when should I RSVP?
We’re so excited to celebrate with you! To help us put the finishing touches on our big day (and make sure there’s enough cake for everyone), please let us know if you’ll be joining us not later than 15th November . You can RSVP right here on our website — it only takes a minute or by sending Alia or Varun a confirmation via text, whichever is more comfortable for you.

Are there hotel recommendations or special rates? How can we go about making a reservation?
We’re delighted to share three accommodation options for our guests — two of our beloved Calcutta clubs (a big part of the city’s culture!) and one centrally located hotel. Special rates have been arranged for our family and friends, and you’ll find all the details in the Accommodation Tab.
Please Note: If you’d like to book Tollygunge Club or The Bengal Club, kindly contact Alia or Varun with guest name, club name, the type of room & dates you would like to book, and we’ll coordinate your booking directly with the clubs. There are limited rooms, so please let us know at the earliest!

Will there be a shuttle service or should I arrange my own transport?
If you are staying at one of the three recommended accommodations, there will be a shuttle service between your hotel and the event venues.
These shuttles will run at specific, fixed times, so please be on time to help everything run smoothly for everyone. You’ll find the full schedule and contact details in your welcome basket at check-in.
If you’d like to arrive or leave outside of the shuttle timings, Ubers and other local cabs are widely available and easy to book in Kolkata.

Yes! We are listing nearby beauty parlors and salons so you can book a little pampering before the celebrations. If you are staying at Tollygunge Club, please contact the club parlour at +918777078257 and make an appointment once you have confirmed your room reservation.
For guests staying at the Bengal Club or Kenilworth, you could get in touch with a parlour called Sunflower which is walking distance from both places. Please call Sabina at +919831047722 to make an appointment as soon as your room reservation is confirmed to ensure availability. If you have any further queries, please contact Alia.
Is there a dress code for the wedding and other events?
We've put together a dress code for the celebrations but think of it as an inspiration board rather than a rule book!
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable, confident, and ready to enjoy every moment.
If your outfit makes you dance, laugh & click a hundred pictures, you've nailed it!
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors? What is the weather like at that time of year?
All celebrations will be held outdoors so we can enjoy the beautiful Calcutta winter. January in Calcutta is pleasantly cool, with daytime temperatures around 20–25°C (68–77°F) and evenings dipping to 12–15°C (54–59°F), so you may want to bring a light shawl, wrap, or jacket for the night events.
